Cíes islands

The Cíes Islands are an archipelago off the coast of Spanish northwest autonomous community of Galicia. The Cíes islands consist of three islands, Monteagudo, do Faro  and San Martiño. The islands were included in the Atlantic Islands of Galicia National Park in 2002. The first thing you'll notice as you sail to the Cíes Islands is the stunning sandy Rodas beach, which was chosen as the “best beach in the world” in 2007 by the British newspaper Guardian. When sailing around the islands you will encounter many wonderful beaches and lagoons. On the western side you will see 100m vertical cliffs and many caves, while the eastern side is less steep, covered by woods and bushes and protected from the Atlantic winds, allowing the formation of beaches and dunes.

La Coruña

La Coruña is a second largest city and municipality of Galicia, Spain. With an average temperature of 14ºC and over 2,000 annual hours of sun, A Coruña is, thanks to its beaches, rias and tourist sites, an ideal place for the practice of sailing sports and for entertainment. Marina in La Coruña is located near Piaza de Maria Pita which has lots of small streets you can explore for hours. For the cruising yachtsman, La Coruña is a good staging post for a passage across the Bay of Biscay. In the summertime, the Orzan and Riazor beaches are immensely popular destinations, located directly opposite of the port in the central part of the city. During María Pita festivity, which takes place all through August, Riazor is the venue of Noroeste Pop Rock Festival.
